The new year is a great time to start new habits – and we may be well into the first month of 2015, however it’s certainly not too late to get those new resolutions going! Not to mention that the Chinese New Year is coming up on January 29th – so there is still plenty of time to celebrate new beginnings. Below is some info on our special celebrations for the Chinese New Year and our New Haven location’s 1 Year Anniversary, followed by our top tips for healthy living in 2015:
Pu-erh Tea is an excellent choice if you’re looking for detoxifying and fat-burning benefits. This unique, fermented tea has been recognized for its impact on health for centuries in its native China. Its earthy richness is as delicious as it is incomparable. Pu-erh tea is also “user-friendly” since it never becomes bitter, regardless of how long it steeps. And it’s low caffeine makes it a great “go-to” tea anytime of the day! Tip Two – Start your day off right with a healthy breakfast!
It’s as easy as adding your tea, banana and favorite milk in a blender, hitting the “mix” button and watching your oh-so-yummy breakfast treat whirl to perfection. Add a swirl of honey or agave nectar for extra “yum”.
Matcha and bananas are terrific superfoods, providing your body with a quick and convenient source of nutrients.
Matcha is a powdered tea, consisting of only finely crushed tea leaves. It easily enjoyed by simply whisking the powder in either boiled or cold water (whisks are available at our online store – click here). Drinking one cup of this amazing green tea is comparable to drinking approximately 10 cups of regular green tea! Try our Organic “Ceremonial Grade” Matcha and its fresh, wholesome flavor or Blueberry Matcha for a hint of sweetness.
Bananas contain potassium, dietary fiber, magnesium, and vitamins B6 and C.
When you start your day off right, you are more likely to make healthy choices throughout the day!
Tip Three – Holistic well–being through yoga, meditation, Tai Qui, and other healing arts.
You’re drinking tea and eating healthy, so complete your well–being with mind, body and soul integration through the many holistic practices which can enhance your lifestyle. We recommend gentle yoga as part of your detox regime, and meditation as a daily way to center and create balance and calm. Tai Chi is another wonderful way to relax and keep healthy and centered.
Take time to stop by our New Haven location on Mondays to explore many of these holistic practices with certified Riki Master, teacher, and Healer, Aaron Weston: founder of Sacred Rhythm Healing, beginning at 9 am.
