The holidays can be a stressful time.
We at The Green Teahouse want to help take the edge off and allow you to thoroughly enjoy this magical time of year. There’s no better way to do that than with a pot of hot tea to share. Here are a few recipes we and our customers have fallen in love with. For an added bit of presentation, brew in one of our heat resistant Sitka pots and our double walled glass cups.
Keemun Caramel Café: It would be wonderful if everyone were tea enthusiasts. There’s so much to love and the list of health benefits seems endless, but there will always be coffee drinkers. Luckily, our Keemun Caramel Café is the best of both worlds. We
combine 1 tablespoon of our Keemun black tea with an equal amount of Caramel Rooibos to 16oz of boiled water. Stir in our favorite coffee, add milk, and top this decadent treat with whipped cream and caramel sauce. It’s also great without the coffee.
Caramel Mint Marshmallow: The holidays usually mean a stampede of children darting in and out of the kitchen looking for something sweet to eat. All that sugar can wind them up even more than the promise of gifts under the tree. We have a little trick to slip in a healthy treat this year. Our caramel mint marshmallow is a blend of a 1 tablespoon of our Caramel Mint Rooibos to 1 teaspoon of unsweetened cocoa powder in 16oz of boiled water. We top it with a heaping tablespoon of mini marshmallows and sweeten to taste. It’s a perfect hot chocolate alternative and a great way to get the kids to sit and sip for a few blessed moments.
Raspberry Truffle Late: This one is an easy way to help digest after heavy holiday meals. Just scoop 1 tablespoon of our Raspberry Pu-erh and 1 teaspoon of our Cocoa Pu-erh into 16oz boiled water until you get a nice dark brew. Sweeten to taste, and top with your favorite frothed milk or milk alternative for a chocolaty, healthy treat.
